Fun Easter Wedding at St Pancras Hotel in London

‘If you wannabee my lover you gotta get with my…’ Sorry couldn’t resist, what Spice Girls fan would?! This is how we ended the night at Chloë and Matt’s wedding at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Chloe and her best friends standing where the spice girls once stood, dancing and singing. Which is also pretty similar to how we started the day too. I was recommended to Chloe and Matt by their friends Amy and Matt whose wedding I photographed in London the year before - i love seeing the same wedding guests at weddings, it’s so lovely to catch up and there’s something wonderful about getting to see circles of friends get married!

“Kate was my 2nd favourite person (after Matt) at the wedding”

It was officially (in my books) the hottest Easter ever, so much so someone actually fainted during group shots, but the heat didn’t stop this pair having one joyful and fun day. They actually described it as ‘happy, drunk and fun’, they were right! I started the day with Chloë and her bridesmaids (who wore the most amazing emerald green dresses), laughter and giggles was in the air and it set the tone for the rest of this wonderfully fun easter wedding. Daffodils were a-plenty and the place was surrounded with the most beautiful of blooms from Sweet Pea Floral. Their ceremony was short (as Chloë and Matt said, ‘the minimum legal requirement’) but oh so very sweet with lots of grins and full of love. Then the champagne flowed, according to the St Pancras one of the biggest champagne package anyone has ever ordered (my kinda people), and tasty canapés that Chloë's lovely mum kept bringing over to make sure I ate.  Before we knew it, it was time for speeches, with laughter, embarrassing photos and happy tears. The dance floor didn’t kick off until it cooled down but once it was full it was full, apart from when we all disappeared down the hall to re-enact our fave Spice Girls song of course….

Such a fun and joyous day in one of my fave locations in London, scroll on for photos and to hear from Chloë and Matt on planning their St Pancras wedding!

How did you get started planning your wedding at St Pancras Hotel in London?

We did not enjoy planning our wedding! We started by booking the wedding venue, St Pancras, and after that our photographer - both a year in advance. We sorted other wedding suppliers and everything else about 6 months before.

What made you choose St Pancras as your London Wedding Venue?

After going to too many weddings in the middle of nowhere we were sure we wanted to do ours in London. After seeing a few venues in London, St Pancras felt like the most complete and organised package.

What were your favourite parts of your St Pancras wedding?

Both: Getting married to each other, how much fun everyone had

Chloë: Singing spice girls on the stairs and Matt's Speech

Matt: Hiding in our room for a bit, sharing goss

How did you style your St Pancras wedding and what made you choose your decor?

The venue is pretty immense so we didn’t do a lot aside from flowers! Sweet Pea Flowers were on St Pancras vendor list and we loved her not too structured style with mismatched vases and more use of foliage. She took some inspiration from the Scilly Isles (where we got engaged). Being Easter daffodils played a huge part. Oh, and yellow is Chloë's favourite colour!

Tell me about your wedding outfits?

Chloë: I didn't like my wedding dress, too much champagne and a long day of trying on dresses most likely to blame! Loved my bracelet & necklace which are family heirlooms. My shoes from John Lewis were super comfy. Liked my evening dress (which was from ASOS), the yellow stripe matched my flowers!

Matt: First suit that fitted me well. Chloe helped me treat myself to a tie & cufflinks from Liberty, didn't risk wearing new shoes on the day since I was going to be on my feet for most of it!

Did you have any special music at your wedding day?

For our ceremony we had First Aid Kit - My Silver Lining. It’s a relaxing song we both love and for our first dance we chose Natalie Cole - This will be (an everlasting love)

Do you have any comments about your photography? What was it like working with Kate Jackson Photography as your photographer?

Matt: KATE IS AMAZING. We have been recommending her to everybody we know (regardless of whether they're getting married or not). Chloë: Kate was my 2nd favourite person (after Matt) at the wedding. Being with her made the stresses of the day go away. The photos made me SO HAPPY. They're SUCH good photos, that just happened to be taken at our wedding.
