Quirky and alternative wedding ceremony readings, from David Bowie to Doctor Who. A list of my some of my favourite wedding reading.,

Pub Wedding in Dublin | Bek + Tim

Bek and Tim got married on chilly but beautiful Spring day in Dublin. Yes folks, I got to go to the land of Guinness, and a place special in my heart since it’s where most of my family hail from - Ireland! I love pub weddings, and a proper Irish pub like the Storehouse was an amazing setting. In the heart of Temple Bar with beautiful brickwork, and colourful graffiti back drops a-plenty on it’s neighbouring streets. I danced my socks off and laughed a lot too, it was so much fun.

Choosing Your Photographer | Wedding Planning

Choosing a photographer can of the most important wedding details. In the digital age we live in it often feels like there is a never-ending list of options. This means that selecting a photographer can be a bit overwhelming, so how can you choose?

Just Engaged? | Wedding Planning

When it comes to planning your day you have probably got naff all clue where to start. Although I haven’t yet been engaged myself, I’ve had plenty of experience in seeing couples (and my friends) panic, usually because they have so many people telling them what they should (and shouldn't) be doing the second they get engaged. But wedding planning doesn’t have to be that way (and I promise I'm not telling you what to do).

2018 Goals

Happy New Year everybody, I know I'm a week late but it's taken a while to sink in. I'm seeing so many amazing 2017 round up's from my wonderful wedding photographer pals, and I am sitting here thinking about all of the things I really should have got around to. Like posting my best of 2016. And blogging something, anything at all.

Do I need a second photographer? | Wedding Planning

Thinking that you may need a second photographer included in your photography package? Two is better than one right? The answer totally depends on you, the size of your wedding and what you want covered, and what is possible with the time and venue(s). I usually work alone but I'm always happy to add a second shooter onto any of my wedding photography packages.

Urban Pre-Wedding Shoot in Digbeth Birmingham

When I was organising to first meet up with Andy and Amy to discuss photographing their wedding and they suggested meeting at Quarter House Coffee in Birmingham (my fave coffee place) I knew we were going to get on like a house on fire. And we did. Even sharing the tastiest oreo cookie cake I ever did have. We organised to meet up a few weeks later for a pre-wedding photography shoot on the streets of Digbeth in Birmingham. Just like me they are both fans of the amazingly cool graffiti art that is all around so it was their shoot place of choice for sure. I love Digbeth as a photo back drop, which is just as well as this pair chose to get married at Fazeley Studios in the Custard Factory next year- the perfect quirky venue for a Birmingham wedding.

Zara & Stuart's Quirky DIY Spring Wedding at Blackfriars Priory Gloucester. Think Daffodils, hot cross buns and some awesome moves on the dance floor. After some Easter Wedding Inspiration? Look no further!

Iceland | Travel Photography

I often like to share my travel tales with others - what better place to do it than my blog. In January I went to Iceland for a few days with my other half, Damon. I can certainly see why it is a popular elopement destination. I would love to shoot a wedding there! World famous for its geothermal landscape, one of the greatest things about visiting here is its uniqueness, I can tell you there is no landscape quite like it.

Should I have an unplugged wedding? | Wedding Planning

Considering having an unplugged wedding? What's that you say?! To put it simply it's where you ask your mates that for just one day, they get off their phones and other electronic devices that take photos or record video during your wedding. Here are some benefits to having an unplugged ceremony. . .

Woodland Pre-Wedding Photography | Kirsten & Dan

Kirsten & Dan are having a destination wedding in Greece in August, and guess what - I'm the lucky lady that gets to be their wedding photographer. In March we went for a little wander in the woods for their engagement shoot and they even brought along their cute pooch Reggie

KHAR Eat & Greet Event | Birmingham

Last week I volunteered once again as event photographer for local group Kings Heath Action for Refugees (KHAR). KHAR is a community group working with individuals, schools and other groups to respond to the refugee crisis in Europe.

Wedding Planning | Pinterest

First off let me be clear, I love Pinterest. I'm constantly using it for home decor ideas, photography inspiration to hair styles. When it comes to planning your wedding day it can be really handy too. As a wedding photographer though I always give a word of warning to couples planning their big day and are big Pinterest lovers - take what you see with a pinch of salt. Find out why here. . .

One shot | Behind the madness

I want to tell you a story, one image - one big wedding. Why you say? Simple, every image is important. Each and every one of the little moments I photograph that make up a couples wedding day. The bits in between are just as important as the 'I do's', the speeches and the first dance. Whether it's a simple detail or something as simple as a hug that passed by in an instant.

My First Ever Post

Last week another wedding photographer said I should think about investment into a photography festival, specifically SNAP Photography Festival. I'd already heard about it and was already convinced how UTTERLY AMAZING it would be to go. . .
